Terms of Service

By accessing or using Fantasy Fader you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the application.

1. Description of Service

Fantasy Fader is a web-based audio management tool designed to help tabletop RPG game masters manage audio playback during game sessions. The application enables playback of content from YouTube and Spotify, playlist management, session saving, and related features. The service is provided "as is" and is subject to change at any time.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using Fantasy Fader, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. User Accounts

You may use Fantasy Fader without an account, but certain features (such as saving sessions across devices) require signing in with a Google account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others.
  • Notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Free and Pro Features

Fantasy Fader offers a free tier and a Pro tier. The free tier includes all core playback and session features. Pro features (Spotify integration, the Soundboard, and Auto-Balance) require an active Pro entitlement. We reserve the right to modify, add, or remove features from either tier at any time with reasonable notice.

5. Payments, Subscriptions, and Gift Codes

Plans. Pro access is available as a monthly subscription ($5/month) or a one-time Lifetime license ($20). Monthly subscribers may upgrade to Lifetime at a discounted rate. Pricing is subject to change; existing subscribers will be notified before any price change takes effect.

Billing. All payments are processed by Stripe. By making a purchase you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. Fantasy Fader does not store your payment card information.

Cancellation. Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from the Settings panel in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial-month refunds are issued.

Refunds. All purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at fantasyfader@gmail.com within 14 days of the charge.

Gift codes. Gift codes for Lifetime access may be purchased and shared with any person. Gift codes are non-refundable, have no cash value, and can only be redeemed once. We are not responsible for lost or stolen gift codes. Once redeemed, a gift code cannot be transferred to a different account.

Lifetime access. A Lifetime license grants Pro access for as long as Fantasy Fader is actively hosted and operated. In the event that Fantasy Fader ceases operation, reasonable advance notice will be provided to Lifetime license holders. Lifetime access does not guarantee any specific features will remain unchanged indefinitely.

7. Third-Party Content and Services

Fantasy Fader provides tools for playing content from third-party platforms. Your use of that content is governed by the terms of those platforms:

YouTube. Fantasy Fader uses the YouTube IFrame Player API to play YouTube videos in accordance with the YouTube API Services Terms of Service. By playing YouTube content through this application, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Fantasy Fader does not download, extract, cache, or redistribute YouTube content. Videos play in their original form including any advertisements. Fantasy Fader does not circumvent YouTube access controls or content protections.

Spotify. Pro users may connect a Spotify account to enable playback through the Spotify Web Playback SDK, in accordance with the Spotify Developer Terms of Service. Spotify integration requires an active Spotify Premium subscription. By using Spotify through this application you agree to be bound by the Spotify Terms of Service. Fantasy Fader does not record, download, cache, or redistribute Spotify audio streams.

Firebase (Google). User account data and saved sessions are stored using Firebase, a Google service. By using account features, you acknowledge that your data is processed by Firebase in accordance with the Firebase Privacy Policy.

Stripe. Payment processing is provided by Stripe. By making a purchase you agree to the Stripe Services Agreement and Stripe Privacy Policy. Fantasy Fader does not store payment card details.

GoatCounter. Fantasy Fader uses GoatCounter to count page visits. GoatCounter collects no personally identifiable information and uses no cookies. See the GoatCounter Privacy Policy.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Fantasy Fader only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations.
  • Use the service to download, extract, copy, cache, or redistribute content from YouTube, Spotify, or any other third-party platform in violation of that platform's terms.
  • Attempt to circumvent, bypass, or interfere with any security, authentication, or access control mechanisms of the service or any third-party platform it integrates with.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or other automated means to access or interact with the service.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, its infrastructure, or other users' data.
  • Use the service to infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.

9. Intellectual Property

The Fantasy Fader application, including its design, code, and original content, is owned by its creators and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. All audio and video content played through the application remains the property of its respective copyright owners and is subject to the terms of the platforms through which it is delivered (YouTube, Spotify). Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights in any third-party content.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Fantasy Fader is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that third-party content (YouTube videos, Spotify tracks) will be available or will play without interruption.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fantasy Fader and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or any other damages, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Fantasy Fader and its creators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Fantasy Fader at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including but not limited to violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Fantasy Fader after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the applicable courts.
